Hair loss may be attributed to a host of causes, but its genetic loss, also known as male or female pattern baldness, is the most common cause. It tends to accelerate as people age, a process that can leave them feeling frustrated.

Research into natural remedies for hair loss is not widespread, but some oils have shown promise.

One of these oils is grape seed oil, which is made from grape seeds left over from the winemaking process. Grape seed oil was linked to hair loss in an animal study.

In a Japanese study, researchers used grape seed oil as a scalp treatment and as a tonic in mice, and they observed significant hair growth in both directions.

Its ability to stimulate hair growth is attributed to the flavonoids found in the oil called oligomers procyanidin, which is a powerful antioxidant.

Antioxidants are compounds that are believed to play a role in preventing oxidative stress, a process that can lead to damage to cells and tissues in the body. It is believed that oxidative stress is behind hair loss.

Studies have found that procyanidin oligomers may stimulate hair growth, however more research is needed.

Grapeseed oil is a good source of Vitamin E, which is believed to play a role in preventing hair loss.

And perhaps the antioxidant properties of the vitamin will help reduce oxidative stress on the scalp.

And to boost the link, a small trial found that vitamin E supplementation improved hair growth in people with hair loss.
